Hodge promoted to president of R&B Holdings

SALINE, MICH. (Feb. 25, 11:40 a.m. ET) — Al Hodge has been promoted from vice president of sales blow molding and extrusion equipment maker R&B Plastics Machinery LLC to president of R&B Holdings LLC, effective Feb. 17.

Hodge is responsible for R&B Plastics Machinery in Saline; Monroe Mold, a maker of blow molds in Monroe, Mich.; and R&B Real Estate. He will continue to work from the firm’s Saline headquarters.

Hodge holds degrees in electrical engineering, international business and an MBA. He is a member of the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc.’s Machinery Division and the Society of Plastics Engineers.

Hodge joined R&B Plastics Machinery in late 2008. He has more than 30 years of experience in sales and marketing and management, including work at plastics machinery maker Davis-Standard LLC, extrusion controls supplier Facts Inc., and Standex Engraving Corp., a maker of textured rolls.

“Since Al has been part of our team, he has demonstrated the critical management as well as leadership qualities required to lead this company forward,” said Robert LaGanke, group vice president of Detroit-based Talon Group LLC, R&B’s parent company.

Founded in 1942 as R&B Machine Tool Co., a maker of metal cutting machines, the company expanded into blow molding machines by creating R&B Plastics Machinery as a subsidiary in 1980. The machine tool division was sold in 2001 and later closed.

R&B makes Max single-screw extruders and a variety of blow molding machines, including shuttle machines, wheel machines, rotary indexing-wheel machines, reciprocating screw blow molders and injection blow molders, plus trimmers and deflashers.  Source plasticsnews.com
