Sound performance for Sandler

SandlerwebLeading German nonwovens manufacturer Sandler AG was able to increase its turnover to €168 million in 2009, up from €166 million in 2008.
The company’s production output increased by 13% during the year, due to the centralisation of its business units at its site in Schwarzenbach/Saale, and an export rate of 60% being maintained throughout last year.
Sandler employs a wide range of nonwoven production technologies and sells its materials to many sectors. It continues to finde success in the market for wet wipes and wipes for cleaning and disinfection, having set a trend towards environmentally-friendly production in this sector with its ‘Less is Best to Nature’ range.
As a result of ongoing process optimisation, Sandler succeeded in sustainably reducing the consumption of raw materials in production, ushering in a new product standard featuring consistent quality and functionality. Sandler is also able to realise individual designs by patterning via hydro and thermo-embossing, aperturing and printing.
In hygiene applications such as diapers and adult incontinence products, the textile character of Sandler’s nonwovens results in a high wearing comfort, while products with higher CD elongation for stretch applications and fastening systems guarantee flexible and optimal fit.
Among new introductions for filtration filter media are pleatable nonwovens with a large surface area, and meanwhile, more than 40 automotive models worldwide are now equipped with special nonwovens manufactured by Sandler. Lightweight absorber nonwovens made of 100% polyester are included in sound and heat insulation systems in the engine compartment and also now as textile wheel house liners, which are particularly resistant to fluids. Water and oil-repellent specialty fibres prevent the accumulation of dirt and snow below the fender. The material dries quickly and features excellent temperature stability.
Constructio is another key field for the company. Nonwovens have versatile applications in the exterior and interior part of buildings as heat insulation or to cover cracks in walls.
Sandler also decided to bring forward a large investment at its premises in Schwarzenbach/Saale which had originally been scheduled for 2011. Preparatory excavation works for the new building began last Autumn.  Source
