Formidable extrusion partnership

BiaxReifenhäuser Reicofil, the leading manufacturer of spunmelt machinery, has recently signed a cooperation agreement with Biax-Fiberfilm for meltblown lines.

As a result, Reicofil has the exclusive rights to integrate Biax technology into its spunmelt lines and distribute stand-alone systems lines in Europe, South America and Africa.

Biax-Fiberfilm, along with its distribution partners, will be responsible for selling stand-alone meltblown lines in the USA and Far East.

The primary goal of combining technologies is to push the development and the quality of elastic nonwovens that are particularly attractive for the hygiene market. Both companies see a large potential in this, and to take full advantage of it, the testing and laboratory lines of Biax-Fiberfilm in Greenville, Wisconsin, and the lines available in Reicofil’s Technology Centre in Troisdorf will be used for development work.

With the new agreement, Biax-Fiberfilm and Reicofil continue their cooperation announced at INDEX in Geneva in 2008, when they agreed on the joint development of a Lyocell meltblown line for the production of biodegradable nonwoven fabrics.
