Artificial leather with stretch

GlacemwebJapan’s KB Seiren has developed a new artificial leather called Glacem ES, which is characterised by advanced stretch properties.
The product is based on the company’s Espacione polyurethane nonwoven with a special coating and has 250% total stretch and 80% stretch recovery at 100% stretch.
The light weight and soft product can also be moulded into shapes and has good weather resistance.
KB Seiren sees applications for it in automotive seating, electronics ketboards and pads and furniture, in addition to outwerwear, bags and shoes.
This year, the company will produce around 30,000 square metres, with the aim of achieving sales of Yen 100 million. The plan is to increase capacity to an annual 200 square metres within three years.  Source
