Rapid progress for Sandler expansion

Sandler webSandler expects its new spunlace line, which is being installed as part of a €40 million investment in Schwarzenbach, Germany, to be operational by this Autum.
Construction of the new plant – which will be two storeys and 20 metres high and 70 metres wide – is now well underway. It will be the largest dedicated wipes substrate plant in the world, the company says, and will create 60 jobs, with commercial production scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2011.
Contrary to the general trend of establishing new production sites around the world, Sandler management considers the pooling of technologies and know-how at one location to be a valuable factor in favour of its Schwarzenbach base.
