3M Acquires Dailys

3M Company (MMMAnalyst Report) has acquired Dailys Ltd, a U.K– based manufacturer of disposable, protective clothing. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Dailys specializes in non-woven, chemically treated covering material meant for industrial use. 3M Company will gain access to the United Kingdom by leveraging the sales network of Dailys Ltd.

The acquisition expands the protective wear portfolio of the company that includes Scotchlite reflective material, which enhances worker visibility in low-light and nighttime conditions. 3M’s Occupational Health & Environmental Safety product portfolio also includes Thinsulate insulation used for apparel that helps keep warm without the unnecessary weight and brings more freedom of movement.

The 3M brand is recognized and trusted around the world. Household names like Nexcare, Post-it, Scotch, Scotch-Brite, and Scotchgard are market leaders. This has led to strong brand recognition across the globe.

We believe that continued capital expenditure with new product launches and increased focus on emerging markets like China, India, etc. should bolster its prospects across most end markets.
