Krones to launch two blow-molding products at K 2010

Krones is planning to launch a new oven and a machine add-on for stretch blow-molding at the upcoming K trade show.

At the meeting of the plastics and rubber industries at the end of October, Krones will present the new FlexWave oven for the Contiform stretch blow-moulding machine.

FlexWave

The German company claims the main attraction of the FlexWave is its low energy consumption compared to the infra-red technologies currently on the market.

But it also claims that no other technology is able to combine equal all over heating, energy density and heating speed to such telling effect.

In addition, Krones said the oven is highly flexible in terms of its compatibility with different preform colours, PET materials and the proportion of recyclate.

A spokesperson for the company said more details about the machine will be revealed at the launch at K 2010.

ProShape

Alongside the new oven, Krones is launching a machine add-on at the show to enable the creation of lightweight oval containers and out of the ordinary bottle designs.

The ProShape is added to the stretch blow-moulding technology of the present Contiform series to offer alignment and responsive temperature control for preforms.

Krones said the overall concept offers the ideal preconditions for creating oval or asymmetrical plastic containers. Station outputs of up to 2,000 containers an hour can be achieved with the ProShape.

Again more details of the ProShape will be revealed by Krones at the K show, which takes place in Düsseldorf, from 27 October to 3 November 2010.
