The 15th International Exhibition on Textile Industry (ShanghaiTex 2011) is to feature over 1,000 local and overseas exhibitors. According to organisers, demand from both the international market and the domestic market has accelerated interest and encouraged high levels of participation.

The show, which aims to promote textile trade and technology, will be held in a 92,000sqm facility, large enough to accommodate sourcing and business networking opportunities. The layout has been designed around five themed zones. Now fully booked, the Knitting and Hosiery Machinery Zone will feature key companies such as Santoni, Stoll, Groz Beckert, Falmac Machinery, Conti Complett and Shima Seiki.

The Printing, Dyeing and Finishing Machinery and Textile Chemicals Zone is to include exhibitions from Fong’s, Thies, Danfoss, Gofront and Brazzoli.

Mazuoli and Savio will appear at the Spinning, Nonwoven and Techtextile Machinery Zone, whilst Jakob Mueller, Runyuan and Karl Mayer will exhibit their latest innovations in the Warp-Knitting, Embroidery and Weaving Machinery Zone.

Organisers have also collaborated with exhibitors to stage a fashion show alongside the main event. Stoll, Santoni, Shima Seiki and Chemtax, European textile machinery brand agent, will showcase their latest technology and newest materials.

According to statistics published by ShanghaiTex organisers, between January and June 2010, the total export and import value of textile machinery was $2.659bn, an increase of 51% compared with the same period last year.
