New applications for scrims

BAFATEX Bellingroth GmbH & Co.KG is exploring new applications for its specialised reinforcements including glass doors to offer additional security for splitting, bonding the back of mosaic parquets, and wallpapers to provide a unique plastic effect.

BAFA-laid scrims consist of diagonally crossed threads that are laid and fixed with binders. They have a characteristic of a 6- to 10-directional yarn arrangement. This provides a higher tensile strength for load bearing and the diagonal weft yarn position creates a star-shaped tensile improvement compared with rectangular constructions.

The scrims are currently used in building, automotive, packaging, home, industrial, protection and sports applications.
